I feel teaching elementary is a calling, not simply a job
Rhode Island is looking for self-motivated elementary teachers who have the ability to challenge students. They need teachers who are familiar with child growth and development and common core standards. Rhode Island wants elementary teachers that are able to excel at teaching and learning strategies that will enhance student performance. Rhode Island currently has a shortage of Pre-K through 2nd grade teachers.
Rhode Island is currently in the process developing a salary schedule that will tie teacher salary and career advancement to student achievement as opposed to the traditional experience and education model.
